Last month, residents of our Post Office Drive apartments in Eliot, ME were treated to a barbeque picnic to celebrate the completion of eight months of construction that brought significant improvements to the property.
Work on these improvements began last fall with the installation of an up-graded septic system and the laying of new water lines from the main road to each of the property's three apartment buildings.
Earlier this spring, re-grading of the soil improved water drainage and eliminated run-off problems that have plagued the property. The residents also gained access to a new on-site laundry facility.
The final stage of the project was the laying of a new asphalt driveway and re-striping including handicap designated parking spots. The total cost of the improvement project, completed in early July, was approximately $200,000.
